A native of Maryland, Dr. Chatham completed his undergraduate work at Pennsylvania State University and proceeded to medical school at the University of Florida, graduating in 1976. After an Internal Medicine internship in Richmond, Virginia, he completed his residency in OB/GYN at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1981. Dr. Chatham began private practice in Oregon before joining Catawba Women’s Center in 1987. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). His love for his family, reading and hiking fill his evenings and weekends.

This was my second visit for the same issue within 2 months, acute abdominal pain. I was told there was no need for an ultrasound because it couldn't have changed that much, no labs were done, not even a pregnancy test. All the while I'm that time span I had had an IUD taken out which I was told afterwards wasn't placed correctly to start with. That in itself was a change so some sort of diagnostic testing would have been nice to confirm that my reproductive system looked ok besides a physical exam and oh everything looks fine. I was also told during this appointment maybe I should make an appointment with a different Dr next time to get someone else's point of view. I will not be returning to this office and I've been a patient there for almost 10 years.
