Postpartum Services

After you give birth, our UWH of The Carolinas healthcare professionals will continue to care for you and your specific needs as a new mother. The first six weeks after delivery, especially, are a time of changes for you and your family, including changes to your physical health. Your body will be healing, and you will be adjusting to a new life with your baby.

Our expert and caring postpartum services include helping you understand what the changes in your body mean, and helping you continue in good health as a new mother. We’ll monitor your weight, your blood pressure, your sleep habits and fatigue level, as well as your mental health. A physical exam will check your cervix, vagina, uterus, and abdomen to determine whether everything is healing as well as it should.
