Dr. Stacy Travis, a native of Kentucky, received her Bachelors of Science degree at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She received the Murray State University Presidential Scholarship, a prestigious four-year full academic scholarship. From there, she attended medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky. Having selected a career in obstetrics and gynecology, she headed to Texas where she completed her internship and residency at the University of Texas – Southwestern at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
After working with Carolina Ob-Gyn Care in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she and Dr. Saltzman founded Biltmore Ob-Gyn in 1995.

Pre-Operative Evaluation

I'd happily give our face to face meeting all the stars! Communication could use a little improvement. I had the genetic testing, which had LOTS of information on it, but the only "counseling" was that everything looked good. No one told me what a "pre-op" appointment would entail; I could have guessed there would be a pelvic exam, but might've also though there would be bloodwork. I feel like everything I know about this process I learned on the internet before we met, but I did come up with some questions 5 days ago that I posted in the portal and haven't seen any answer come through. Also, no word from the hospital and surgery is in a week...Is your office checking behind them?

Gynecological Problem Visit

I had a 9:45 appt and was not seen until 10:30. Due to the effects of the meds I took at 8:45 wearing off since the appt was almost an hour late, I requested local anesthetic for a Endosee and was told no. It was a painful experience that could have been avoided.

I have been fortunate to be a patient of Dr Travis's for over 23 years. She cared for me during the pregnancy of my second son and was always caring, kind and genuinely interested in my well being and the well being of my unborn child. I had hoped she would deliver my son, but I went into labor unexpectedly over 3 weeks early, and she was not on call. However, I feel like she was there with me due to the number of hours we spent together before that day! She will be my gynecologist until she retires! Asheville is blessed to have her. In addition, the staff is always caring, patient and kind.
