Dr. Givens joined Lowcountry Women’s Specialists in 1999 and achieved full partner status in 2001. He practices both Obstetrics and Gynecology and he is accepting new patients. Dr. Givens has significant expertise in the specialized field of robotic and minimally invasive surgery, and his interests include benign gynecologic conditions, as well as routine and complicated obstetrics. He is particularly interested in the management of endometriosis, fibroids, as well as other complex gynecologic surgeries.

Dr. Givens also serves as a da Vinci robotic preceptor, one of only three in the Lowcountry, and helps teach other surgeons around the country how to use the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

Dr. Givens is the Chairman of the Perinatal Morbidity and Mortality Committee, past Chairman of the Department of Women and Children, and is a member of the Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Department at Trident Health System.

Dr. Givens is married, has two children, and he enjoys traveling, boating, and spending time with his family.

I felt rushed with Dr. Givens and this has seemed to be the case lately. I have been seeing him for 25 years and it is to the point of me trying to find a different dr. Although the ultrasound girl had a trainee, they both made me feel comfortable. Although it took longer than normal it wasn't bad bc they held conversation. Then apparently Dr Givens had a trainee and she first tried to get another urine sample when I had already done one, she clearly didn't prepare for me. Then she was asking all the questions that i had already completed before arriving, in the email I was sent to ask to complete. Than another lady came in and told her to stop that and get me ready bc the dr was ready. He used to come in and shake my hand, have small talk, and then get to the point. This has not happened in quite some time. Being this is an appt most women feel uneasy about I was pleased with how he always made it more comfortable. This last visit was horrible, I felt very uneasy and out of place.
