Andreas Antono

Dr. “Dre” Antono grew up in the Bay Area in California and moved to North Carolina with his family at the end of high school. He studied Biology at NC State University. He then attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where he earned his medical degree and Masters in Public Health in 2019. He completed his residency training at the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) here in Asheville in 2023.

Dr. Antono’s goal is to support his patients in their individual health journeys through shared decision-making. He will partner with patients by listening to their concerns, providing evidence-based recommendations and guidance to achieve their unique goals.

Personal Interests and Hobbies
Dr. Antono and his wife (who is a nurse) moved to Asheville at the beginning of his residency training in 2019. They met before medical school through an alumni group for a nonprofit called Bike & Build. Previously, they had separately cycled over 4000 miles across the United States with Bike & Build.

When he is not working, Dr. Antono loves spending time with his family at home or on a local trail. He and his wife just welcomed their second son this summer! They hope to share their sense of adventure and love for the outdoors with their children.
