I am a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. I completed my undergraduate degree at UNC Chapel Hill. I graduated with distinction and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

I completed my medical degree at UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine and fulfilled my residency in obstetrics and gynecology in the UNC Hospital system.

My husband, Thomas, and I have two daughters. I enjoy reading, outdoor activities, and being a mom.

Dr. Barrett is always nice and listens well. This visit, she took the time to talk with me, which she always does, and I was able to discuss issues that have emerged since I turned 50. I appreciated that she took her time and that I didn't feel rushed at all. She addressed other concerns I had regarding cancer risks and I was thrilled that she suggested I could take a test there in the office for genetic screening for cancer.
