Kim Lopes

Kim Lopes is focused on helping women and families feel empowered and educated in their healthcare, as she supports each one in their unique birth experience. A National Health Service Corps scholar, she received her Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse-Midwifery from the Yale School of Nursing.

When deciding on a career choice, Kim knew that she wanted to work with and help other people. She was always drawn to issues concerning women’s rights and feels that it’s important to educate women to be comfortable with their bodies.

Inspired by a conversation with another midwifery professional, Kim decided that the field felt like the perfect fit for her, her skills, and her interests. Today she continues to be inspired by coworkers, patients, family, and all the folks that make up her community and that work together every day.

In her spare time, Kim enjoys yoga, outdoor activities such as hiking and biking, as well as reading, cooking, baking, and sewing. Kim is fluent in English and French.

As a nurse midwife, Kim knows that each woman and each family brings their own set of challenges and rewards, a fact that keeps the practice interesting and meaningful.
