Dr. Lori W. Spisak began her obstetrical career as a nurse, a certified nurse midwife, and then attended William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan to complete her training to become an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. After working four years in Saginaw as part of her National Health Service Corps assignment, she moved to Algonac, Michigan and was head of the Department of OB/GYN for the past ten years until the hospital stopped providing maternal child health care.

Most recently, Dr. Spisak relocated to LaGrange to be closer to her newest grandson, Watson. Dr. Spisak is married and has four children, four step-children and eight grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, her horse and two dogs. Other activities that she finds pleasure are hiking, riding, walking, reading and learning new things.

Her goal is to always provide compassionate, excellent and wholistic care to her patients in an environment that encourages growth and creativity.

Dr explained very well. Very soft spoken sometimes hard to understand. Had CT scan done have not heard results from DR yet. It has been several days. called office twice and spoke to nurse she was very nice. still waiting to hear from DR.

I am a former patient of Dr. Roethling returning after having moved away. As Dr. R was no longer at the practice; I was cared for by Dr. Spisak. She was so delightful to speak with. I felt that I was in good care and would love for her to be my provider moving forward. ( I was schedule with Dr. Adekoya but her schedule that day didn't allow it). I would like to request to be moved to her if she is accepting new patients.

Fibroid Detection

My appointment on 2/9/24 was a follow up to check my uterine fibroids. My appointment was at 3:00 for a scan and 3:15 with the provider. I arrived at 2:40. I was called to the back around 3:05 for the scan. The scan went fine and didn't take long. The tech went to check to see if the examination room was ready, and it was not. I was sent back to the waiting room to wait. 45 minutes later I was called back for my appointment with the provider. The nurse weighed me and checked my blood pressure and put me in the examination room and said the provider would be with me shortly. Another 45 minutes went by and still not provider. It was 4:45 and I had to be at work at 5:00, so I left without being seen and went to the check out and asked to be rescheduled. If the provider was running behind, the staff should let me know and given me the option of rescheduling. I wasted 1 1/2 hours of my time that I will never get back.

There were a few hiccups with the student with dr spasek and at times a tad uncomfortable. I wasn’t given enough time to get ready to begin with and when performing the Pap smear, I was jabbed a lot with the speculum.

The checkin staff and nurse were extremely efficient and respectful and very friendly. Dr Spisak has a very soft caring nature. She took the time to explain everything and listened intently when I spoke. I feel she did a great exam and explained things as she went. She gave encouragement to exercise and for self care. I feel she is very competent as a doctor. I am very glad I saw her and I will in the future.
