Salena wants to encourage her patients to be empowered and involved in their healthcare. She wants each patient to know she has really listened to them and desires to be their health advocate.

Salena has three sons and one cat. She loves being outside jogging or sitting on the couch reading. She was born and raised in Asheville. She began her nursing career as an LPN at Asheville Women’s Medical Center in 1999 and is excited to be back now as a Nurse Practitioner.

Selena is absolutely amazing. She makes you feel at ease the moment she walks in the room; I don't know how that is possible at an OBGYN appointment, but somehow she manages it effortlessly. I had three appointments that day and every person I interacted with at AWMC in Asheville was absolutely lovely. I'm very thankful to feel comfortable here.

The nurse practitioner was friendly and engaging. She explained my last Dexa scan and what I need to do as far exercise and oral calcium supplement to prevent further bone loss. She did ask if I had any further questions or concerns before ending the appointment. She explained the need for another Dexa scan this year.
