A native of the Washington, DC area, Dr. Almquist is excited to now call Greensboro home. She, along with her husband and 3 year old daughter, enjoy taking advantage of the many recreational and educational opportunities the area has to offer. She particularly enjoys outdoor adventures with her family – especially kayaking, paddle-boarding, or just sitting at the beach watching the waves do all of the work. Her interests include exploring her local area along with traveling, and nightly story time with her daughter is a treasured routine.

Dr. Almquist has cared for women in Virginia, the High Country of North Carolina, and is now honored to care for the women of Greensboro and surrounding areas.

It was the 1st time in years I had to wait well over an hour for a 5 minute checkup Beth Lane was much more thorough. I felt rushed by the time I saw her. At this point not sure if I still need to actually see the Doctor.

Expected the doctor would discuss menopause more, she suggested a medication for symptoms but should have went into more detail as to why she chose the particular medication and how it should help when the med she chose is usually for neuropathy…. With me being a RN I knew what is usually for and I had to ask the questions….she was in a hurry and our conversation was rushed. When I asked if she was going to send the scripts in now she replied it would take a few hours for the pharmacy to fill it before I could pick it up anyway. (I was going out of town and the pharmacy could have filled it within a few minutes) my pharmacy is Moses Cone Outpatient pharmacy and she knew that. She had suggested I try taking the med when I didn’t have to work the next day….well I was going to be off the next several days but was leaving Greensboro when I left the office and could have picked the med up. So I didn’t get it. I was disappointed with my visit. I was also aware the office was working in another pt supposedly at 10:30 with Dr Amquist my appt was at 10:15 ( it was 10:00) I know this because this patient checked in right before me and said this…..she went back before me and most likely was seen before me. I know patients need to be worked in for unexpected reasons but should have been after the scheduled appointments (10:30 if that was the open time they gave her) maybe I would not have been rushed thru my appointment. Check out desk did say the office is “working” on hiring a new provider, a new NP and Midwife. I hope so. Beth Lane will be truly missed. I have seen her for 25-30 years. I hope the office gets a great NP to take her place. And the office certainly needs more doctors so they can spend a little more time with the patients.

Dr. Almquist is absolutely wonderful. She's patient, kind, straightforward, trustworthy, and is a genuine down to earth person. I was hesitant and worried because what I had experienced under someone's care. She took care of me before, during my pregnancy, and after. I was at high risk and now I have a healthy 7 month old. She's always welcoming. She reminds me of a motherly best friend I never had.

My appt was at 9:45. Finally, at 11:45, Dr. A managed to see me for all of 5 minutes. The nurse returned to explain the diagnosis and treatment. If this had been my first interaction with W OBGYN, there would not have been a second.
