Catching an infection or disease early, even before you experience any symptoms, is critical for treatment that will keep the condition from becoming a major issue.

Important Screenings

An important screening for all women is the blood or saliva test for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). For women born before 1965, a test for hepatitis C is also particularly important. Younger women who are sexually active, especially those who have multiple partners, should be tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia regularly.
