A native of Long Beach, New York (and proud of it!), Dr. Segal relocated to North Carolina in 1994. He attended medical school at SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, NY. He went on to complete his residency at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital at Chapel Hill. Fluent in Spanish, he is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the North Carolina Medical Society and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Segal resides in the area with his wife, Anne, and his 3 children, 2 girls and a boy. In his spare time he enjoys cycling, spending time with family, and traveling.

Follow-up

I was highly satisfied with my entire visit until I had to go with the lady the took my blood. Prior to her the staff was great and Dr. Segal always does an amazing job. If I could rate the front desk, assistants and doctor I’d give them 5 stars. The phlebotomist lady or whatever she was, was not very welcoming. Making it known that “this is my last one. I’m not taking anyone else. We’re closing”. The assistant told her Dr. Segal wants labs for her -or something like that. I honestly should’ve responded back and said if I’m an inconvenience I can go somewhere else. I work in health care myself and I would never make comments like that in the presence of a patient. I still approached her in good energy. She said “sign in on this paper”. I signed in and said “am I your last one for today?” She said “yup” with her back turned towards me. I was under the impression that I was next so I was still standing next to the sign in sheet. She then turns around and says “honey what? What do you need? Go over there and sit on the couch” - & in a not so pleasant tone. Just filled with attitude. This is where my energy changed. Because ok I know you’re annoyed to see me last, but not once did you tell me to wait by the couch to come to me with that attitude. I go sit down and now I’m dry towards her because I’m ready to get this part over with so I can leave. Its so frustrating when someone can be rude and then they realize that they have irritated that person and all of a sudden theres an attitude change. Once it’s my turn she wants to be all friendly and make conversation -which I was no longer in the mood for because she could’ve spoke to me is a kinder and respectful way. She drew my blood and I left. I’ve left a 5 star review for the office on Google before and was so close to signing in and changing it to a lower rating, but thankfully you sent this survey over. Hopefully this is an internal review place where someone will address her with how she talks to people. I didn’t get her name but she was the lady taking blood Friday, September 20th.
