A native of Long Beach, New York (and proud of it!), Dr. Segal relocated to North Carolina in 1994. He attended medical school at SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, NY. He went on to complete his residency at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital at Chapel Hill. Fluent in Spanish, he is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the North Carolina Medical Society and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Segal resides in the area with his wife, Anne, and his 3 children, 2 girls and a boy. In his spare time he enjoys cycling, spending time with family, and traveling.

OB Care

My visit with Dr. Segal was very thorough he listen to my complaints/problems with the pain that I had been experiencing and did a proper assessment. However, my pervious visits with Kristen Allison, WHNP I addressed the same complaints of pain and discomfort. My complaints were not properly addressed with neither a follow up with a physician nor a pelvic exam or bedside ultrasound. I was simply told that I most likely was experiencing dehydration and as a result I was experiencing pelvic cramping and discomfort. Kristen proceeded to listen to the heartbeat of the baby to confirm that everything was ok. In which in reality it was not I unfortunately lost my pregnancy at 16 weeks 5 days and if it wasn’t for the pelvic exam and bedside ultrasound perform by Dr. Segal I would have never know the severity of my symptoms.
